Privacy notice
Updated July 28, 2026
This notice explains how PageVero handles information through pagevero.com, the PageVero browser extension for Chrome and Edge, and the related account, webpage extraction, personal knowledge-base, knowledge-chat, billing, and support features.
What the browser extension can access
The extension has access to webpages so that it can work on the current page when you choose a PageVero action. It reads the current page's visible or otherwise extractable content and relevant metadata, which can include the URL, title, language, text, links, image references, and other page metadata. This access supports user-facing Markdown conversion, AI extraction, saving to your personal knowledge base, and chat with the current page. PageVero does not use this access to monitor your browsing in the background, build an advertising profile, or collect pages that you have not asked PageVero to process.
Processing on your device
Initial webpage-to-Markdown conversion occurs in the extension on your device. The extension also stores interface preferences, extraction options, language and theme choices locally. If local result caching is enabled, the current page's converted result, URL, links, image references, and metadata are cached in the extension's local storage. Cache entries are designed to expire after five minutes and are removed when the cache is next read or pruned. You can disable this cache in the extension and can remove all local data by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling it.
When you sign in, the extension stores a PageVero session token and basic account details in the browser's local extension storage so it can keep you signed in. A current-page chat attachment may also remain in the side panel's session storage for that panel session. Signing out removes the locally stored PageVero token and cached account details; server-side session and account records are addressed separately below.
Information sent to PageVero
Page content is sent to PageVero only after you invoke a feature that requires server processing. For example, choosing to save and analyze a page sends its Markdown, URL, title, language, and selected output language to PageVero for AI extraction and knowledge-base storage. Sending a chat message sends your question and the context needed to answer it, which may include the attached current-page Markdown, recent conversation content, and relevant content retrieved from your personal knowledge base. Merely converting a page to Markdown for local viewing does not send that page content to PageVero.
We also process the following information when relevant:
- Account and authentication data: email address, display name, avatar, locale, login method, hashed password credentials where email login is used, Google account profile data where Google sign-in is used, and session records.
- Saved product data: source-page archives, extraction summaries, facts, opinions, evidence, hashes, token usage, embeddings, indexed knowledge units, chat prompts, generated replies, conversation context, and deletion status.
- Operational and security data: timestamps, feature and credit usage, request status, error information, IP address or a one-way hash derived from it in applicable workflows, user agent, referrer, and records needed to enforce limits, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.
- Website analytics data: page URL and title, referrer, browser and device information, approximate location derived by Google, analytics consent choice, and events such as page views, account registration, login, checkout, and purchase. Account events include only the login method. Purchase events include the plan, currency, amount, and a one-way hash of the transaction reference. We do not send email addresses, webpage content processed by PageVero, saved knowledge, search queries, or chat messages to Google Analytics.
- Support data: the name and contact email you provide, optional account email, ticket category, subject, message, optional related URL, locale, and ticket status. A support notification containing the submitted ticket details is sent to the PageVero support team.
- Billing data: credit balance, plan, entitlement, subscription, order, and payment-status metadata received from our payment provider. PageVero does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
How we use information
We use information to provide the features you request: authenticate your account; convert and analyze webpages; archive sources; create, index, search, and delete personal knowledge; retrieve relevant context; generate chat answers; synchronize your history across the website and extension; operate credit and billing features; measure website and conversion performance; respond to support requests; enforce limits; investigate abuse; and maintain security and reliability. We do not sell personal data, use page content or browsing activity for personalized advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Google Analytics and your choices
PageVero uses Google Analytics 4 on the website with advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization, and Google Signals disabled. Analytics storage is denied until you choose to allow it. Your choice is stored locally in your browser and can be changed through the Analytics settings control in the website footer. When analytics storage is denied, Google's Consent Mode may still receive limited, cookieless measurement signals. Google processes analytics data under the Google Privacy Policy.
Service providers and disclosures
We disclose data only as needed for the purposes described above. Current service providers and categories include Google for optional Google authentication and Google Analytics website measurement; Creem as Merchant of Record for paid transactions; Cloudflare for AI gateway, object storage, transactional email, and related infrastructure; Alibaba Cloud DashScope for knowledge embeddings; the configured AI model provider for webpage extraction and chat generation; and hosting, database, search, and message-processing infrastructure used to operate PageVero. AI requests can include the webpage or knowledge context and user prompt needed to produce the requested result. Support notification emails include the ticket details you submit.
Creem collects and processes payment, billing address, tax, fraud-prevention, and transaction information under the Creem Privacy Notice. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect PageVero and its users from fraud or abuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale after obtaining any consent required by the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and applicable law.
Retention and deletion
PageVero authentication sessions are currently issued for up to seven days and may be revoked earlier by signing out. Unless you delete data through an available product control or ask us to delete it, account, extraction, knowledge, chat, usage, and billing records are retained while needed to provide and secure your account and meet legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and fraud-prevention obligations. No fixed automatic deletion period currently applies to stored extraction history or conversations.
Deleting a knowledge item removes it from your active workspace and starts an asynchronous purge of its dedicated source archive, search index entries, chunks, units, and embeddings that are no longer referenced by active knowledge. A minimal deletion record and the underlying extraction and usage records may remain. Deleting a conversation removes it from your active conversation list and stops active processing; related backend records can remain until they are deleted through our operational processes or in response to a valid deletion request. Support tickets are retained for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and meet security or legal obligations.
You can delete knowledge items and conversations in the product. To request access, correction, or deletion of your account or other stored data, submit a request through the PageVero Support page. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some records may be retained where required by law or necessary for security, billing, fraud prevention, or resolving disputes. Data held by a service provider may remain in provider backups for its standard backup lifecycle.
Security and international processing
PageVero uses HTTPS for data transmitted between the extension, website, and PageVero services. Safeguards include hashed server-side session tokens and password credentials, access controls, server-side authorization and validation, and separation of user-owned knowledge records. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. PageVero and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to the providers' safeguards and applicable law.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
PageVero's use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We limit use of this data to providing or improving PageVero's disclosed single purpose and related user-facing features. We transfer it only when necessary to provide or improve those features, comply with law, protect against fraud or abuse, or complete a permitted business transfer with required prior consent.
We do not use or transfer this data for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising, sell it to data brokers or information resellers, or use it for creditworthiness or lending. We do not allow humans to read user data except with your explicit consent for specific data, when necessary for security or abuse investigation, to comply with law, or when the data has been aggregated and anonymized for permitted internal operations.
Children
PageVero is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this notice as the product or legal requirements evolve. The updated date above identifies the latest version. We will provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
